WHO IS A FILM PRODUCER?
At one stage or another, you might have watched a film to its conclusion when all the credits are being displayed. Hence, you must know that a whole lot of people were involved in the production and distribution of the movie. A film producer usually oversees the making of a movie in a film production company. He initiates, supervises, co-ordinates and controls all matters relating to a movie production such as hiring personnel, fund raising and the distribution process. He may also liaise with the director or other sub producers in the actual process of filmmaking such as the video production process and screen play. The producer is involved in all aspects of filmmaking from beginning to end. Movie production is a complicated business and as such, one producer (executive producer) supervises and is assisted by others who take on specific producer responsibilities. The other types of producers in the filmmaking industry include; the co-producer, associate producer, production director, line producer, production supervisor and production manager.
